The TIU Research Center has developed a comprehensive master plan designed to elevate its academic standing and research impact through a phased, strategic approach. This roadmap is structured to transition the center from its foundational administrative setup into a robust, globally connected institution, with each phase building upon the previous one to ensure sustainable growth and academic excellence.
The short-term plan focuses on establishing the center’s essential infrastructure and operational framework. This initial phase prioritizes setting up management and lab facilities, along with a dedicated webpage, and implementing “Research Center Office Hours” to improve accessibility for faculty. Furthermore, the center aims to streamline administrative processes—such as establishing ethical regulations and standardized proposal formats—while actively participating in international ranking systems such as QS, THE, and Webometrics to increase the university’s global visibility.
During the medium-term phase, the emphasis shifts toward building collaborative networks and enhancing the quality of research output. The strategy involves establishing national and international joint research centers and fostering industry-academia collaborations to solve community-driven problems. This period also emphasizes human capacity building through summer and winter training programs, inviting distinguished professors for lectures, and aggressively improving the indexing and quality of TIU journals to better serve the academic community.
The long-term plan centers on institutionalizing the research culture and securing long-term sustainability. This phase includes establishing a formal “TIU Press” to manage internal journals, books, and conference proceedings, as well as creating fully equipped, dedicated research labs supported by specialized research teams. Ultimately, this stage aims to secure the center’s future through active participation in international research associations, the acquisition of national and international funding, and the expansion of its reach to government, ministries, and market partners to address real-world, complex problems
