The 2nd Workshop for Experts and Professors, titled “Research Insights from Research Project to Funding,” was held on January 27, 2026, at the Tishk International University (TIU) New Dentistry Building, Hall 400. Organized by the Faculty of Applied Science and the Research Center, this event served as an advanced academic forum for senior faculty and research leaders to strengthen the strategic impact of their scholarly work.
The workshop agenda featured several key sessions aimed at translating research into funded and high-impact programs:
- Opening addresses were delivered by Dr. Sami Mamand.
- Higher Education & Scientific Research in the Arab World was presented by Prof. Dr. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of TIU.
- QS and THE Rankings: Best Practices at TIU was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, Head of the Board of Trustees at TIU.
- Fund Applications: From Best Practices to Opportunities was presented by Dr. Barham Hidar (Civil Engineering, TIU), Dr. Muhammed Sidiq (Physiotherapy Department, TIU), and Dr. Sami Mamand (Medical Analysis, TIU).
- Patent Applications: Bottom-Up Procedure was presented by Prof. Dr. Faiq Hussein, Dean of Applied Science at TIU.
By providing expert-led sessions on higher education trends, grant application best practices, and intellectual property pathways, the workshop offered participants practical insights for their academic careers. This initiative successfully supported the faculty’s objective of advancing innovation and improving institutional performance in international ranking systems
