The aims of the Center include the

To position TIU as a leader in AI-driven education, research, and innovation,
enhancing academic excellence, operational efficiency, and societal impact while
maintaining ethical integrity.
2.2 Mission:
Empowering students, faculty, and the community to understand and develop
practical skills in the field of AI, enhancing creativity and innovation.
To incorporate AI into academic programs to equip students with future-ready
skills. (Equip students with AI skills to meet future demands.)
o To leverage AI for cutting-edge research and innovation. (Enable cutting-edge AI
research to address global and local challenges.)
o To optimize university operations and improve the student experience through
AI-enabled solutions. (Improve university administration using AI for enhanced
decision-making and efficiency.)

and fairness, reflecting the university’s commitment to demonstrating its

3. The AI Centre’s structure
The main objective of creating the Artificial Intelligence Center is to push for the
ethical application of AI in research, education, corporate social responsibility.
The AI Center committee was established on November 5, 2025, headed by the vice
president for academic affairs and included the following members:
o Prof. Dr. Qasim Obaidi, Director of the AI Center.
Dr. Wasfi Kahwachi, Faculty of Dentistry.
o Dr. Ezideen Hasso, Faculty of Engineering.
o Dr. Hemin Ibrahim, Faculty of Applied Sciences.
o Mr. Abdullah Bilgin, Information Technology unit.
Four primary committees were established to plan the center’s contribution to
achieving its goals:
o Research Committee.
o Academic Committee.
o Operations Committee.
o Industrial Committee.
Tishk International University is committed to keeping its position as a leading
respected university in the area by the incorporation of advanced technology into
its academic curricula, research initiatives, and administrative operations. The
university established the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center in 2025 to enhance its
academic reputation, research abilities, and societal impact. The Center is an
academic entity within the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The
strategy plan for 2026-2030 has been approved.
