STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 5:
DELIVER IMPACTFUL INNOVATION BY COLLABORATING WITH INDUSTRY, BUSINESS, THE GOVERNMENT, AND THE COMMUNITY ON RESEARCH PROJECTS
Effective research requires collaboration between academic institutions, across disciplines, and with the public and private sectors. Disciplines or research groups that meet or overlap frequently produce outstanding research innovation. Additionally beneficial to teaching, research collaboration can enhance a university’s and its staff’s reputation.

Framework Programs

Action 1:
THROUGH OUR INTERNAL PROCESSES AND POLICIES, PROMOTE COLLABORATIONS
1. Increase the results of collaborations by rewarding them with recognition and funding for things like research grants, patents, publications, and the selective external co-supervision of HDR students.
2. Maintain your support for a program for international collaboration and travel as well as distribution of research-specific information.
3. Support the needs of the visiting scholars.
4. Through international partnerships, exchange programs, and external cosupervision, increase the proportion of HDR students engaged in joint research.
5. As part of contract agreements, formalize adjunct assignments and incorporate contributions to the research culture and outcomes like coauthored publications.

Action 2:
IMPROVE OUR RECORD IN RESEARCH THROUGH OUR COLLABORATIONS IN RESEARCH
1. Create an integrated social media strategy and presence that highlights the research and faculty of TIU University.
2. Ensure that TIU University is highlighted in international marketing campaigns as a top-tier research school.
3. By hosting an annual Research Week, issuing an annual Research Highlights Report, hosting research seminars that are open to the public, and granting free access to publications and research data, we can continue to increase the amount of research that is presented to the community, industry, and government.
4. Through a public research portal, highlight the results of our research.
5. Recognize the significance of non-conventional research promotion, such as blogs and websites with a public audience.

Action 3:
RAISE RESEARCH PARTICIPATION
1. A research engagement plan can help academics interact with stakeholders and end users.
2. Give academics a way to track their engagement activities and submit reports about them via the Professional Development Review (PDR) procedure.
