On 15 June 2026, the Research Center of Tishk International University organized an extensive full-day meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., bringing together Research Center members to evaluate the center’s performance during the 2025–2026 academic year and to develop a strategic roadmap for the coming academic year.

The meeting commenced with opening remarks delivered by Dr. Orhan Tug, followed by a comprehensive SWOT analysis session. Participants collaboratively examined the center’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and potential threats, creating an open platform for reflection and constructive discussion regarding the current status and future direction of the Research Center.

Morning Session: Evaluation of the 2025–2026 Academic Year’s RC Activities

A substantial portion of the meeting was dedicated to evaluating the Research Center’s activities and achievements throughout the academic year. Participants reviewed the effectiveness of scientific events, internal meetings, research initiatives, and Research Fellows’ contributions. Through both plenary discussions and subgroup activities, members assessed the overall impact of the center’s programs and identified areas requiring further improvement.

The evaluation also covered research infrastructure and support mechanisms, including available research facilities, ongoing and completed research projects, patent-related activities, and ethical approval procedures. Discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening research capacity, improving support services, and increasing the visibility of innovative research outputs.

Furthermore, the participants conducted a detailed review of academic staff performance, the effectiveness of research units, archival systems, website content, and the university’s scholarly journals. The assessment focused on enhancing operational efficiency, improving information management practices, and ensuring that the center’s digital presence accurately reflects its academic achievements and activities.

The first session of the meeting concluded that the Research Center had made notable progress in promoting research culture, supporting academic productivity, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. At the same time, several opportunities for development were identified, particularly in expanding research networks, increasing external funding opportunities, strengthening industrial partnerships, and enhancing international visibility.

A very good lunch was served to the center members in a well-known restaurant to thanks them for their contributions to the center.

Afternoon Session: RC Activities Planning for the 2026–2027 Academic Year

Following the evaluation sessions, participants shifted their focus toward strategic planning for the upcoming academic year. Discussions began with a comprehensive needs analysis to identify priority areas for development and growth. Members explored new activity and event proposals, considered establishing additional research units, and examined successful practices implemented by leading national and international research centers.

The planning sessions also addressed future conferences, scientific publications, research projects, and collaborative initiatives. Participants proposed several actions to strengthen international partnerships, encourage interdisciplinary research, increase academic output, and expand engagement with industry and external stakeholders. Special attention was given to creating opportunities for collaborative projects that can contribute to both academic excellence and societal impact.

Additional discussions focused on personnel development, material and infrastructure requirements, improvements to the Research Center’s website and archive systems, and other strategic investments necessary to support future growth. Members worked collectively to define a sustainable three- to five-year vision that aligns with the mission and long-term objectives of the Research Center and Tishk International University.

The meeting concluded with a reporting session and closing remarks, during which participants reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the Research Center’s role as a leading hub for research, innovation, and academic collaboration. The outcomes of the meeting will serve as a foundation for the center’s strategic activities and initiatives throughout the 2026–2027 academic year. A certification ceremony and group photo activities ended the meeting.
