The Research Center of TIU is pleased to announce that Asst. Prof. Dr. Orhan Tuğ, Director of TIU Research Centers, served as a jury member for a Master’s thesis defense held at the College of Science, Salahaddin University-Erbil, on 28.06.2026.

The thesis, entitled “Computing the Numerical Range of Linear Differential Operator Pencils,” was presented by Rawaz Hasan Mawlood as part of his Master’s degree studies in Mathematical Modeling. The defense was organized by the Department of Mathematics, College of Science, Salahaddin University-Erbil.

The examination committee consisted of distinguished academics from several universities:

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Orhan Tug – Director of TIU Research Centers, Tishk International University (Jury Member)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Nareen Sabih Muhemed Said – University of Duhok (Jury Member)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Imad Abdulrahman Aziz– Salahaddin University-Erbil (Head of the Jury)
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Sabir – Salahaddin University-Erbil (Supervisor and Jury Member)

During the defense, the candidate presented the research objectives, methodology, theoretical findings, and numerical results related to the numerical range of linear differential operator pencils. Following a comprehensive scientific discussion and evaluation by the examination committee, the thesis was accepted as fulfilling the requirements for the Master’s degree.

The participation of Asst. Prof. Dr. Orhan Tug, a member of the examination committee, reflects the growing academic collaboration between Tishk International University and other higher education institutions in the Kurdistan Region. Such engagements help strengthen inter-university cooperation, promote academic excellence, and support the advancement of high-quality research in mathematics and related disciplines.
